We’ve been photographing weddings in the Philadelphia area and beyond since 2013 which is fair to say- we have some favorite venues in the area on the Main Line, where our studio is based. Weddings at these venues are simply a breeze to photograph because not only are the teams that operate them stellar and passionate about weddings, but the stunning garden-inspired and sometimes historic locations just make the most perfect wedding galleries!
APPLeFORD ESTATE
VILLANOVA, PENNSYLVANIA
Appleford Estate is the perfect location if you’re looking to have an elevated garden-party wedding. Appleford is well-loved for the formal boxwood and rose gardens and beautiful blossoming trees. Appleford Estate is beautiful in all seasons! We love the historic home and tented event space and find that it’s the perfect space to host guests as they can spread out and enjoy the delights of the property throughout a wedding evening.

Pomme makes the list for so many reasons! This venue is a beautiful blend between the organic outdoors and a modern wedding. Pomme is tucked away under a canopy of trees that provide shade during the warmer months, with a pond with swans, and a modern indoor reception space that photographs perfectly in any season, rain or shine. The light and airy indoor space is a wonderful backup option incase of rain or gloomy weather. The space is fresh, modern that will fit with the theme of any wedding. But looks aren’t just everything- Peachtree Catering owns and operates this venue and are true culinary artists when it comes to their menu. If food is important to you, this venue is a must to check out!

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PENNSYLVANIA
If you’re a hopeless romantic and a lover of the outdoors and history, this is THE dream venue for you. Another venue operated by Peachtree Catering (so again, if you’re a culinary lover- this venue is a must!) Also known as Hunting Hill Mansion, this stone castle-like historic venue is just west of Philadelphia in Newtown Square. It’s located in Ridley Creek State Park, so your wedding will truly be unplugged in a formal garden complete with stone walls, a reflecting pool and lined trees surrounded by lush and wild forest. The the entirety of the mansion was built in 1915, but was built around a historic farmhouse which was originally built in 1789!

OVERBROOK GOLF CLUB

Overbrook Golf Club has a Georgian Manor inspired venue with newly renovated cocktail hour and ballroom spaces. The outdoor area overlooks the rolling hills of the manicured back nine holes.
RADNOR HUNT

Founded in 1883, Radnot Hunt is the oldest contiunous fox hunt in the United States. With acres of picturesque countryside views, Radnor Hunt is a litlte slice of history on the in Chester County- including renovated wooden stable doors and walls of a rustic farmhouse.

MERION GOLF CLUB
Ardmore, PENNSYLVANIA
Merion Golf Club has hosted five of the US Opens, most recently in 2013. The historic club house sits upon beautiful manicured course. In the heart of Haverford Township, your guests are not far from the border of Philadelphia for a weekend of sightseeing. The ballroom is beautifully renovated with large windows to bring in natural light and an airy atmospehere. Guests will enjoy a partially covered outdoor cocktail hour overlooking the beautiful landscape of the historic course.

We love that the club house was built by the famous architect, Frank Furness. The club also has deep roots in the area with over 150 years of history. The ballroom is a wonderful spot to celebrate your wedding and we love the wrap around porch for cocktails and portraits.

Many of venues listed above are much loved for their history in the area, however, these two venus are perfect for those looking for something a little different with a love for plants and the garden. Event venues hosted along side garden-shops gives these spaces a more casual less stuffy feel. Terrain at Devon Yard has a more modern elevated feel with black accents whereas Terrain at Styers is much more grounded and rustic with their mushroom hut bridal suite and farmhouse reception space.

Last but not least on our list is the Inn at Grace Winery. We love that Grace Winery offers a full-weekend experience with guest cottages on site for the perfect and romantic multiple-day experience with your families and friends. The entire grounds are beautiful to photograph on- from the vineyards, to the ampitheater for ceremonies, against the old farm houses, cottages…the setting is beautiful in the spring, summer, and autumn when they host weddings.
